This is a conventional defence to a 1NT opening whereby minor suit overcalls show two suits with at least nine cards between them. It derives its name from its inventors, Messrs. Allinger, STern and ROsler.
2♣ shows hearts and a minor while 2♦ shows spades and another suit.
The specified major suit is the anchor suit.
