TRANSFERRED KING

If an opponent opens the bidding at the one level and the next two players pass, you can generally assume that partner has some values.

The usual rule is to imagine that you hold a king more than you actually do and bid accordingly. Partner makes suitable allowance for this.

If you had a king more, you would have made a take-out double of 1♠ in second seat. You therefore have enough for a reopening double.
