FISHBEIN CONVENTION

A rare convention that uses a bid of the next higher-ranking suit after an opposing three-level pre-emptive opening bid as a take-out request (eg 3-3♠). Sometimes wrongly called ‘Herbert’. The hand will normally contain at least four cards in the suit bid.
