A rare conventional defence to an opening pre-emptive three-level bid. The acronym stands for FIshbein and Lower Minor. Over an opening 3♦ or 3♥ bid, Fishbein (the next suit up) is a take-out request guaranteeing at least four cards in the major you bid, while 4♣ is for take-out denying four cards in that major. Over an opening 3♣ or 3♠ bid, the lower minor is a take-out request.
