Up to Scotland and over to the Fjords

I stayed at a hotel on my way up to Rosyth for a cruise. We are actively looking for more venues in the North.

This one was halfway up. Another four hour in the morning took me to Edinburgh and fortunately the air con was good in my car.

Here we are sailing out of Scotland on a lovely afternoon.

Full party of bridge players on a one week cruise.

Mr Bridge Party

80 years and counting. Over 350 guests came to celebrate the occasion. The weather was perfect and the whole day went smoothly.

About 100 bridge guests including many of the Mr Bridge hosts and team members.

There were at least 150 family there too.

The barn dance went very well afterwards with plenty of spinning and laughter.

My father enjoyed the day but needed the rest the next day!

Back to bridge weekends

Two weekends on the trot but there is time for the family to enjoy summer.

Last weekend I was in Blunsdon with a full house and this weekend I am in Grantham with another big party.

All going well with work and of course there is the big build up to next weekend when Mr Bridge is celebrating his 80th with a big party.

Italy here we come

Another country in a day! In and out of Verona to see our new hotel on lake Garda.

Looks great. Good food, great hotel and good bridge facilities.

The picture is from the promenade at the front of the hotel which runs all along the lake.

Something to look forward to in October when we have a full party raring to go. Hoping to take the family out just before.

Birthday and Brighton

Another year amassed! My birthday was duly celebrated and then the family had a break in Brighton with my brother and Alfie’s cousins.

The weather was pretty good considering. Alfie loved the contrast in the sea. Stormy the first day with huge waves and then calm the next at low tide which allowed the elusive sand to appear. Alfie and Daddy paddled with the cousins.

Back from Malta

We had a great time in Malta. My family has some good time – here Alfie is getting ready to explore the rock pools.

The bridge went well as well with smiles all round. The hotel was very large and busy but we were catered for well.

We got back easily enough with Alfie and Daddy sleeping on the flight home!

Next up for me will be sunny St Anne’s at the end of the month.

In Malta

I am in Malta for Mr Bridge’s first holiday in St Paul’s Bay.

I have my family with me. Here they are enjoying the Aquarium.

The hotel is excellent with good conference facilities. The food is excellent: hot and varied. The weather too has been good.

All are happy including Alfie.

Back on board

I am cruising the Med again. In Sicily for three days and then to Malta and on to Greece.

Our bridge group are having fun trying to use splinters and cue bids. As I mentioned in the seminars you often have to get things wrong to get things right eventually and so far quite a few have got them wrong!

The picture is of a Holy Week procession in Trapani, Sicily.

Missing Alfie and Helen of course and Alfie is trying nursery again today so fingers crossed it goes well.
